PERSONAL EXPLORATION

Lacuna began as an exploration of my personal style and how it continues to change and expand. Rather than starting with a fixed aesthetic, I developed the collection through months of sketching and experimentation, allowing new ideas to shape the direction of the work.

BLACK AS DESIGN LANGUAGE

Black became the foundation of the collection. Yohji Yamamoto’s idea that “Black is modest and arrogant at the same time” stayed with me throughout the design process. I was drawn to the mystery and confidence of black clothing, as well as the challenge of creating distinction through silhouette, proportion, texture, and construction when color is removed.

DEPTH IN SIMPLICITY

Lacuna explores how clothing can hide and reveal at the same time. I wanted the garments to show that emotion does not need to be loud to be felt. Through restrained silhouettes and subtle details, the collection creates room for nuance, character, and personal interpretation.

FROM CONCEPT TO GARMENT

I developed the collection independently from concept through final garment. Over several months, I sketched and refined ideas before narrowing them into the final looks.
I handled the design, pattern making, and sewing myself, allowing each garment to develop through hands-on experimentation and construction.
